A. Service Animals B. Emotional Support / Psychiatric Service Animals C. Pets
For attending/camping at Earth House Midsummer Gather (EHMSG) on or after April 1, 2019, service and emotional support / psychiatric service animals must meet a set of enhanced requirements, detailed here.
Although camping is a “wilderness” environment, your pet is a visitor to this environment the same as you, and you will be required to pick up its fecal messes and dispose of them in an approved manner.
A. FULLY TRAINED SERVICE ANIMALS
Fully-trained service animals are welcome and may attend/camp at EHMSG at no charge.
Trained service animals have been specifically trained to perform life functions for individuals with disabilities, including but not limited to:
- Visual impairments
- Mobility impairments
While we encourage advanced notice for service animals so that we may better accommodate you, it is not required.
B. EMOTIONAL SUPPORT / PSYCHIATRIC SERVICE ANIMALS
Emotional support / psychiatric service animals may attend/camp at EHMSG at no charge if they meet the requirements.
Emotional support / psychiatric service animals assist individuals with emotional, psychiatric or cognitive disabilities. Specific training is not required for animals to meet this classification.
Only One (1) emotional support / psychiatric service animal is allowed per person.
Only cats and dogs are accepted as emotional support animals. Advanced notice and approval is required to bring an emotional support / psychiatric service animal with you to EHMSG.
You must complete, submit and receive approval of all 3 forms before your animal will be allowed to attend EHMSG:
- Medical / Mental Health Professional Form
- Veterinary Health Form, or vaccination record with current rabies vaccination information
- Confirmation of Animal Behavior Form
To attend/camp with an emotional support / psychiatric service animal at EHMSG, you must submit all required forms to the Registrar no later than two weeks prior to the beginning of EHMSG.
We will notify you in writing upon document approval. Without this written approval, your animal will not be allowed to attend with you.
Emotional support / psychiatric service animals must be trained to behave properly in public and they will not be permitted at EHMSG if they display any form of disruptive behavior that is not successfully corrected or controlled, including but not limited to:
- Biting or attempting to bite
- Jumping on or lunging at people
Emotional support / psychiatric service animals must be in your control at all times by leash and / or harness.
If this behavior is observed at any point during your stay at EHMSG and is not corrected or controlled, the animal will be considered a pet and all restrictions and applicable fees will apply.
NO pets will be allowed to attend EHMSG.
If your animal is reclassified as a PET, due to either its or your behavior, and it must leave the Gather, there will be no refunds given as you are welcome to return to the Gather without your PET.
